Georgiefest FAQ
What is Georgiefest?
Georgiefest is an annual festival celebrating the life of Georgie Dyer on August 30th. It is essentially a birthday party for her and a fundraiser for causes linked to her.
Who is Georgie?
Georgie was a beautiful, bright, loving and lovable person who left us before we were ready to lose her, due to an aggressive and incurable cancer.
During the five years of her illness, she was helped by various organisations and our aim is to support those charities in her name.
Georgie worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and was deeply concerned for children and their mental health. So we would also like to support a local CYP organisation.
How can I participate?
You can participate by attending the festival, volunteering, or donating to support the cause and the charities involved.
Which charities are Involved?
Georgiefest takes place annually on August 30th, Georgie's birthday.
Where will it be held?
In future years, we hope to add to the fun with games, physical challenges etc; but we are starting small, at the home Georgie shared with Justin and their beloved dog, Toto.

Why Georgie Fest?
The idea for GeorgieFest came about after we saw the touring production of Hamilton. Georgie had a passion for musical theatre and Hamilton was her absolute favourite show. She had seen it twice in London and once in New York and I had watched the filmed version with her. Before she died, she knew the show was coming to Southampton in 2025. She also knew that she was not likely to still be around to see it. So the family went for her. Afterwards I had been struck by the final song, Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story?
Georgie loved a party, so one on her birthday weekend, with music, fun and fundraising seemed like a logical idea.
